Matthew Stafford wins NFL MVP in first close race since 2003

A national committee of 50 media members who regularly cover the league completed its voting before the playoffs began.

Voters selected their top five for eight AP NFL awards. A first place vote was worth 10 points. The votes for 2nd through 5th place were 5, 3, 2, and 1 points.
