Usually when a new fast food launch comes, it pours when it rains. So let’s just say January 27th is going to be a pretty wet day. We’re not just talking about the winter storm that’s likely to hit many parts of the country.

Taco Bell’s new Luxury Value Menu officially launches at restaurants nationwide and McDonald’s new Hot Honey Sauce and accompanying Hot Honey Sandwiches (including a cheeky new snack wrap) will also be available from the same day. But the “spicy” chicken sandwich isn’t the only reason you should head to the Golden Arches next week.

McDonald’s Changeables is a line of Transformers-like toys based on items from Mickey D’s menu. they were the first introduced In 1987, Chicken McNuggets, Big Macs, Milkshakes, Egg McMuffins, French fries, and Quarter Pounder toys were all transformed into robots. McDonald’s introduced two lines of Changeables in 1989 and 1990, but Happy Meal toys haven’t been seen since. However, some people still sell the original toys. eBay.

Now, for the first time in more than 30 years, the shape-shifting Changeable is back in the drive-thru in 16 collection versions.

All McDonald’s themed toys then turn into something else, such as a robot, dinosaur, or another character.

Each Happy Meal, including the Hamburger Happy Meal, McNugget 4-Piece Happy Meal, and McNugget 6-Piece Happy Meal, includes one changeable toy along with your choice of entree, fries, apple slices, and a drink.

The new Changeables Happy Meal will be available for a limited time at McDonald’s stores in the U.S. starting January 27th. Changeables fans are already excited to add to the collection that started in the ’80s, and maybe even excited enough to take on the snow.
