After making an offer for point guard Jay Morant earlier in the day, the Grizzlies took the first step in a major rebuild by trading Jaren Jackson Jr. to the Utah Jazz in a blockbuster eight-player deal. The Bulls also released Kevin Huerter, Dario Šarić and a protected 2026 first-round pick in a three-team deal, sending two-time All-Star Nikola Vucevic to the Boston Celtics for Anfernee Simons and a second-round pick.

Shortly after, the 76ers traded Jared McCain to the Thunder, the Bulls traded Coby White to the Hornets, and the Clippers reportedly traded Chris Paul to the Raptors after a chaotic breakup. Late Wednesday, the Warriors traded veteran center Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks for Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield, two players widely considered available.
