North Cabinet convenes emergency meeting over Middle East conflict

Turkish Cypriot ministers convene for emergency meeting over the ongoing conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran The announcement was made by Prime Minister Ünal Uster on Saturday.

Ustel’s office said the meeting will see members “comprehensively assess the impact of war and intervention against Iran on the national and regional security balance, as well as potential economic and energy-related risks.”

Furthermore, they “Address the latest developments in the region, potential security risks and actions to take in case of possible scenarios”.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, North Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was monitoring the situation “closely and carefully” in coordination with the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

The report advised Turkish Cypriots living in Iran and surrounding areas to “remain in safe areas and strictly follow announcements and warnings from local authorities.”
