as orient star As it celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2026, the brand continues to look upwards for inspiration, literally. Following on from the recent releases we’ve covered so far, Updated Bambino model and sophisticated classic linesThis new M34 F8 Date Anniversary Edition celebrates decades of in-house movement refinement, distinctive design features such as the power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, and the uniquely Japanese balance of quality and value.
The iron meteorite dial is definitely a headliner. The naturally occurring Widmanstätten pattern is a crystal lattice that forms when a meteorite cools in space over millions of years, and is impossible to replicate artificially. The Orient Star has a silver-deposited anti-rust coating on its dial, giving it a gray-silver hue while maintaining its structure. No two dials are alike, ensuring true individuality across the 255-piece limited edition model. To make the depth and geometry of the meteorite look particularly impressive, Orient has applied an anti-reflective SAR coating to both sides of the dual-curve sapphire crystal to protect it. A date display at 3 o’clock and a distinctive power reserve indicator with an orient star at 12 o’clock add practical everyday functionality. The Roman numerals at 12, hour markers, and hands contribute to the monochrome look, with enough contrast to make the time easy to read.
The cool metallic texture of the dial blends perfectly with the 40mm stainless steel case. At 12.9mm thick, the watch is unobtrusive and the stainless steel bracelet emphasizes its modern feel. The sapphire case back is engraved with the 75th anniversary and a unique serial number. Water resistance is 100m.
The watch is powered by the latest in-house automatic caliber F8N64, visible through the display case back. Of note is that this movement features a silicon escape wheel. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of 60 hours. The stated accuracy is +15 to -5 seconds per day.
