wonderful Eagles stars Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman return to club duty following Nigeria’s bronze medal win at the 2025 African Cup of Nations and will face a difficult Champions League match on Wednesday (today).UNCH Sports Extra I will report it.
Osimhen’s Galatasaray will host Atlético Madrid at Rams Park on Wednesday night in a crucial Round 7 clash, while Lookman’s Atalanta will host Athletic Bilbao at the Stadio di Bergamo on the same night.

Both Nigerian players were outstanding at the AFCON in Morocco, with Osimhen contributing four goals and two assists in six games. Lookman, on the other hand, had three goals and three assists and was initially the frontrunner for AFCON MVP.
Galatasaray currently sit 18th in the Champions League table with nine points from six games, but they have not beaten Atlético in the last four European competitions and have lost twice in Turkey, including a 2-0 defeat on matchday one in 2015.
Osimhen, who has scored 12 goals in 16 games for Galatasaray this season, will be crucial to the team’s hopes of earning an automatic spot in the finals.
The 27-year-old captained the Super Eagles in their semi-final match against Morocco but was substituted late in extra time due to an ankle injury.
Galatasaray are scheduled to finish the league stage against Manchester City on January 28th, but a consecutive defeat could mean they could fall out of the play-offs.
Lookman, on the other hand, will return to Atalanta, who have 13 points after six games and are in fifth place, just one point behind ninth-placed Liverpool.
La Dea are looking to end a seven-match winless streak against Spanish teams in Europe, having not won against a Spanish opponent since defeating Valencia in the 2019/20 season.
Athletic Bilbao arrive in Bergamo in poor form, having conceded three or more goals in their last three games, including a 5-0 thrashing of Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup and a 3-2 loss to Real Mallorca.
Both Osimhen and Lookman will be looking to carry their impressive AFCON performances into Wednesday’s crucial European clash.
