Draisaitl scored at 7:40 of the half to make it 2-2, marking the longest point streak of the season at three games (4G) and adding two helpers to make it five games (5G, 5A). The second line of Vasily Podkolzin and Kasperi Kapanen continues to have great chemistry, with Kapanen scoring five points (1G, 4A) in five games since returning from injury. Podkolzin reached 20 points with 10 assists as a helper on Tuesday against the Predators.

Draisaitl has been productive against the Islanders, posting eight goals and four assists in a six-game winning streak. The German’s eight career goals against Ilya Sorokin are third most behind Jack Hughes (10 goals) and Jake Guentzel (9 goals).

Draisaitl is one assist away from reaching 600 career assists.

Connor McDavid had two assists for Nashville, extending his point streak to 20 games (19G, 27A), the longest streak of any NHL player this season. He could become the fifth player in the past 33 years to score points in at least 21 consecutive games, with Mitch Marner reaching 23 games in 2022-23.

He became the third player in Oilers history to score in 20 or more consecutive games, joining Wayne Gretzky and Paul Coffey.
