Korean video game publisher Krafton, Inc. announced that PUBG: Blindspot, a free-to-play 5v5 tactical shooter developed by PUBG Studios, is now available on Steam through Early Access. The team describes the game as “designed around fast-paced, high-intensity indoor gunfights” that combine close-quarters combat and team-based strategy from a top-down perspective.
Crafton, which became a hot topic in October last year by advertising as follows: We aim to transform into an “AI first company.” states in a press release that today’s launch of Early Access marks the beginning of an open development phase in which “the development team is actively working with players to improve gameplay systems and expand content” ahead of the game’s 1.0 release. PUBG Studios adds that player feedback will play a central role in shaping the game, with updates designed around depth, balance, and quality.

PUBG: Blindspot is the first spin-off of the ultra-popular battle royale ancestor (though this is much debated) PUBG, and takes place decades after the events of the original game. Head of IP Taesok Jang said, “Starting with PUBG: Blindspot, PUBG IP will continue to expand into new genres and platforms.”
Today’s release comes ahead of Competitive Season 1, which will be released next week on February 12th. You can download the game now on Steam or play it via Nvidia GeForce Now streaming.
PUBG: Blindspot Character
According to a press release, if you’ve played the beta version of the game, you’ll find some new content in today’s early access release, including defense-only characters with Molotov-based arena controls.
