Bournemouth have announced the signing of striker Ryan from Vasco da Gama on a long-term contract.
The Athletic Reports on Sunday said the teenager had agreed personal terms with the south coast club ahead of a move worth €28.5m (£24.7m) plus additional fees.
The teenager arrived in England on Sunday and underwent a medical on Monday before signing a five-and-a-half year contract.
Ryan, 19, is a product of Vasco’s academy and made his senior debut in 2023, becoming the club’s youngest ever player at the age of 16 years, five months and 16 days.
He played 99 games for the Brazilian club, scoring 25 goals, and finished 2025 with 20 goals in 57 appearances.
Bournemouth’s head of football operations Tiago Pinto said in a statement on Tuesday: “Ryan is a player we have been monitoring closely and has already shown remarkable stability and maturity for his age.”
“We believe he has huge potential and Bournemouth is the perfect environment for him to continue to develop and make an impact.”
Rayan signed a contract extension with Vasco in December until 2028, with Brazil’s under-20s eligible to play.
Bournemouth lost top scorer Antoine Semenyo in January after the Ghanaian joined Manchester City in a deal worth £62.5 million (about $84 million).
The Premier League club then completed the signing of 20-year-old midfielder Alex Toth from Ferencvaros. Toth made his debut against Liverpool on Saturday as Bournemouth defeated the league champions 3-2 with Amin Adli’s stoppage-time winner.
