Report: Canucks give permission to Evander Kane’s agent to seek trade

Kane, a Vancouver native, is in the final year of a five-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers and has been mentioned in trade talks.

The 34-year-old was traded from Edmonton to his hometown Canucks for a fourth-round pick ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft.

He has struggled to make an impact for the rebuilding Canucks, scoring nine goals and 24 points in 51 games. But he has points in three of his last five games.

The Canucks are firmly in sell mode, sending former captain Quinn Hughes to Minnesota in December and leading scorer Kiefer Sherwood to San Jose in early January.
