Springer Nature launches Nature Progress open access journal series

Springer Nature is natural progressis a new Nature-branded journal series within the Nature portfolio, expanding open access (OA) publishing opportunities for researchers. The publisher says the initiative is in response to strong demand from authors, with 84% of authors surveyed welcoming more publishing opportunities. nature-Brand title.

All journals in the Nature Progress series will be fully open access. Authors will be supported by in-house editors who will work with an external editorial board drawn from the research community, and Springer Nature says the model is designed to reflect the diversity of research worldwide while maintaining rigorous editorial standards.

The Nature Progress series will be launched in two biomedical journals with the aim of supporting the rapid dissemination of rigorously evaluated research advances. These new titles complement Springer Nature’s existing portfolio of approximately 700 fully open access journals and build on the more than 240,000 OA articles the publisher publishes each year. As a fully OA journal, it is supported by Springer Nature’s APC exemption policy.

Nature Progress Oncology and Nature Progress Brain Health will begin posting on March 19, 2026.
