Brown’s daughter told TMZ that she believes her father died from smoke inhalation on Tuesday and did not suffer the severe burns he sustained in the horrific fire.
The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to TMZ that Brown’s cause of death was determined to be diffuse heat injury and smoke inhalation. I heard that the cause of death was determined to be an accident.
The tragic fire occurred after Brown went into the barn to jump start the vehicle. A short time later, Brown asked the family for a fire extinguisher, but by the time the family arrived to put out the fire, the barn was already engulfed in flames. His wife suffered severe burns trying to save him.
Brown’s daughter said he was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and a funeral is being planned.
In addition to “The Wire,” Brown also had key roles in “Law & Order: SVU” and “We Own This City.”
