Ward runs a beef farm in Australia with her husband Brian Brown, 78, whom she met on the set of the 1983 miniseries. While promoting her farm, she encountered messages from trolls who said she looked older than her age and wondered why Ward hadn’t done anything to make her look younger.
She is now sharing a message to the trolls, thanking her fans for rallying to her defense.

“Dear people who have responded to the trolls criticizing my appearance, I tried to be a little better today. I even combed my hands through my hair, but just don’t be afraid of aging,” she began her message, which she shared on Instagram on January 15.
“My 60s are a wonderful time in life. I am more fulfilled than ever and have no regrets about leaving my youth and beauty behind,” she continued.
“I’m not young, but I’m a very happy camper. My later years should be celebrated and welcomed. I’ll wait until I get there. They’ll give me so many other gifts that I won’t know what they are until I get there.”
Ms Ward said she was “overwhelmed” by the number of people rushing to defend her against her naysayers, urging her: “Don’t worry. I know we’re all worried to some degree about losing our youth and resorting to some pretty drastic measures to stay young, but let it go.”
