Since President Donald Trump returned to office in 2025, the US government has decided to cancel another 100,000 visas as it continues to crack down on immigration.
The US State Department released information in a statement regarding the official X account and announced that 8,000 students and 2,500 professional employees were affected.
The statement added that the majority of visas were canceled by business and leisure travelers with overstay visas.
The numbers would break records and comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order on alien screening.

Which PIPO visas is canceled by the US and why?
The US State Department said the government was revoking “thousands” of visas for crimes such as assault and drunk driving.
Approximately 8,000 students and 2,500 professional employees have lost their legal status to remain in the United States due to “criminal encounters with law enforcement,” according to the statement. We will continue to deport these violent criminals to keep America safe,” the Department wrote.
One official said nearly 500 students lost their visas for drug possession and distribution, and hundreds of foreign workers lost their visas for child abuse.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Democrats also canceled visas for students who protest Israel.
In August, the State Department will cancel the visas of more than 6,000 international students.
“Under the Trump administration, individual student visas were revoked because individuals violated laws or expressed support for terrorism while in the United States,” the Democratic Party said.
Among professional personnel, half of revocations are based on DUI arrests, 30% are based on assault, battery or confinement charges, and the remaining 20% are based on charges of theft, child abuse, drug abuse and distribution, fraud and embezzlement.

The Trump administration announced a review of all 55 million foreign nationals with valid U.S. visas by August 2025.
State Department Chief of Staff Tommy Piggott said the administration will continue its aggressive enforcement stance through a new Continuing Review Center.
“The Trump Administration will continue to put America first and protect our country from foreign nationals who pose a risk to public safety and national security,” eTalk said.
The United States also does not apply stricter standards for obtaining a U.S. visa.
The State Department has launched a Continuing Review Center whose “purpose is to ensure that all foreign nationals in the United States comply with our laws, and in addition, visas that pose a threat to American citizens will be promptly revoked,” Piggott-Tok said.
The State Department announced that it has revoked approximately 80,000 nonimmigrant visas for November 2025 for crimes ranging from driving under the influence to assault and theft since President Trump took office.
The visa cancellations are part of a broader mass deportation campaign carried out by federal officials.
The Department of Homeland Security announced last month that the Trump administration had deported an additional 605,000 Pipo and 2.5 million Oda.
