A villager found passed out and snoring in a golf cart at Lake Sumter Landing has had his driver’s license revoked.
Sean Thomas Nolan, 59, of the Village of De La Visa North, entered a no-contest plea last week in Sumter County Court on a charge of driving under the influence. He was disqualified from driving for six months, placed on probation for one year and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.

Around 2 a.m. on Aug. 16, a 911 caller alerted the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office that a man was found sleeping in a green golf cart at Lake Sumter Landing. The caller said he tried to wake the man but was unsuccessful.
Deputies arrived on scene and noticed a key in the golf cart’s ignition. The man in the golf cart continued to sleep.
“I could hear him snoring,” the deputy said in the arrest report.
Nolan, who was eventually identified through his Florida driver’s license, nearly fell off the golf cart while speaking with the deputy.
The Chicago native had problems with his balance and struggled with outdoor sobriety training. He provided a breath sample that showed a blood alcohol content of 0.252 and 0.250.
