West Ham vs. Burnley due to injury and suspension, 8 players absent from Premier League match

Up to eight players could be absent from the London Stadium as West Ham prepare to take on Burnley.

This weekend is a big one when it comes to the relegation battle, with West Ham taking on Burnley and Leeds United taking on Nottingham Forest.

All four teams are in the relegation battle, underscoring the importance of the Irons getting a result at the London Stadium.

However, the Hammers will have to miss one of their key players, with up to eight regular players set to miss this weekend’s games.

Jean-Clair Todibo to miss match against Burnley

West Ham’s loss to Chelsea was disappointing enough, especially considering the fact that they were leading 2-0.

But the day took a turn for the worse when Jean-Clair Todibo received a red card for a violent incident in which he grabbed Joao Pedro by the throat.

The Frenchman will now receive a three-match suspension, with Lukas Fabianski the only West Ham squad expected to miss out.

However, injuries are starting to mount for Burnley.

Josh Curren, Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer, Mike Trezor and Connor Roberts are all set to miss this game due to injury, with James Ward-Prowse also ineligible.

Ward-Prowse is on loan from West Ham for the remainder of the season and will not be able to feature against his parent club.

How will West Ham cope without Jean-Clair Todibo?

West Ham have the worst defensive record in the Premier League, and Todibo is one of the few defenders who has played a role in improving that.

His absence is a blow not only for that reason, but also because the options after him are incredibly questionable.

Axel Disasi has not played in the first team for over a year, while Max Kilman has shown time and time again that he is not good enough for Premier League football.

However, one of the two is expected to start against the Clarets, which could be a major concern for Nuno Espirito Santo and a boost for Saturday’s opponents Burnley.
